M&P 45 are all over the place. if dealer isn't able to get you one, then move to another dealer. Four Seasons routinely has them. it's a nice gun. you should be happy with it. very reliable. should run any type of ammo no issues.

other great options that are easy to find in MA:
HK 45
Sig P220 (10-rd mags are available)
FNX 45

i agree w bigblue the G21 is great pistol. can find them in classifieds. the 45acp glocks tend to sell cheaper than 9mm models, as the demand seems a bit lower.

I'm in the market for a 1911. My question is "what's the best MA compliant 1911?"...I don't see much in my gun shops. A Springfield TRP would be sweet. Even a Dan wesson would be nice.

My M&P kind of works after it's 3rd trip back to S&W (was purchased brand new). Still has issues with the slide locking back and the mag catch getting jammed up under the slide somehow. They've replaced everything short of the frame. Trigger was absolute garbage before the apex kit. It's probably flee market junk level after. It sits in the safe. Most un-enjoyable handgun I own. As soon as I see a PPQ in .45 acp in the classifieds I'll use it as a boat anchor.

If I ever got another MP other than the shield I might skip the apex kit and see if I could scoop up free state parts instead. Way cheaper and for that kind of gun it will likely do anything I'd need it to.
