Best price on S&W M&Ps

Four Seasons was getting about $580 for the full sized model and they threw in a box of ammo. S&W gives you an extra two mags.

S&W is no longer giving away free mags or cash with the purchase of new guns. That ended at the end of April 2009 IIRC.

I paid 489.00 cash for my 9mm compact back in February at Four Seasons.. I don't know what their prices are now.

$519 at FS while supplies last

I was afraid of this. There was a lot of demand for the M&P 45 but I think the emphasis has shifted to guns more likely to be banned by our newly elected socialist goverment. FS probably placed the order quite a while ago, only to find that the market had changed by delivery time. The guns weren't moving as fast as expected, hence the price drop. I should have waited.

As far as prices go, I always check A.G. Guns in Lowell. I've found that they usually have the lowest prices.

I ended up grabbing a used one at Four Seasons on Saturday for $499. It's got an MRL prefix serial number, I'd assume that's a current one, it looks brand new. Any opinions/critical comments about the M&P45 in general? I hope the compact model makes it to MA soon.

There's someone in the WTT looking to trade a 45c for a full size .45 MP if your interested.

I have fired a free-state-trigger M&P 45. Based on this experience, if/when I buy a 45 pistol, the M&P 45 will be the first one. I liked it that much. Plus, it has a stock 10 round magazine, so you aren't stuck with Clinton mags!

I have had this one a few days. It was made in Feb, 09, looks to be in mint shape. Very nice gun, but I noticed 3 "divots" in the slide where a cutter left a mark and there's a big one in the slide rails. They don't affect anything, but Glock wouldn't let a product like that go out the door. Maybe it's the stainless construction. If they Melonite the stainless slide, why not Melonite a carbon steel slide? It may be easier to work with and won't leave marks behind.
S&W was great when I called them looking for an owners manual and gripstraps. This one came with a medium, the small and large were missing. They're sending them right along, no charge.
I hope to get this one to the range soon. And hopefully get a standard trigger installed. These are the best guns you can get in MA right now, IMHO.

Swapping the MA trigger return spring for a free state unit will improve the trigger. The spring goes for $2.75.
