Part of why I love her, is the thoughtfulness she puts into gifts!
We had gone to Pete's Gun Shop together back in mid October, and I had jokingly told her that this particular pistol would be a great plinker (and birthday gift), because I enjoy shooting .22, but the P22 we got for her to practice with is too small for my hands. We fondled probably ten guns that day between us, and I didn't make any special point of highlighting this one. But she remembered it, went back a few weeks later after calling to reserve it, and managed to stash it away until Wednesday when it was presented - guess I picked a keeper!![Grin [grin] [grin]](/xen/styles/default/xenforo/smilies.vb/041.gif)
It wasn't the most expensive gun in the case, and it's got some honest holster wear, but the springs are tight and the bore is bright and shiny. Someone loved this gun for a long time before it caught my eye and my lovely wife brought it home for me. Now that I'm its new custodian, I just need to get out and violate the rights of a few empty cans to make it feel at home in its new residence.
Bi-Centennial Ruger Mark I. Yes, the mallet was necessary to reassemble after I took it down to check everything out.
