In case you have nothing better to do, I thought you might enjoy reading this letter from (the) Bob Brownell to my granddad in 1949. As you may have seen in my 1949 Brownell's catalog Karma, Brownell Industries was a real business in 1949 with a 300pg catalog. My granddad was just setting himself up as a small town, part time gunsmith and had written asking about bluing equipment. Despite my granddad being small potatoes, Bob Brownell took the time to write more than a page to him. What a contrast with businesses today.
ETA: Note my granddad's address. Name and town only. Linslaw, OR was small in 1949.

That was a bygone era of exchanging real knowledge WITHOUT the primary fear of corporate liability. That was an era of master level skills that were earned through hands on, not watching a Youtube vid. Great read as a peek as to how things "were". Thanks for sharing.

When it comes to tools for gunsmiting Bronells is the very best. For parts Bronells seem to have some higher end products, however Medway USA seems to have a wider available inventory.

I go back and forth between Brownells and Midway depending upon what I want/need and what each is offering at the time.

Have had almost no problems (that I can remember) with either.
Also great service with Primary Arms and EuroOptic. f*** OpticsPlanet.
