Browning Hi-power

I have a Browning hi power. Its a 69 model non "T" with a round hammer. My question is when they say external extractor, does that mean you can see a "bar" which seems to be a part of the extractor along the right side of the slide traveling about halfway thru the serrations for the slide grip?
