I fondled a Browning X-Bolt yesterday at Kittery Trading post. I REALLY REALLY liked the bolt. I have never cycled a 60 degree bolt and I gotta say, I like it way more than a normal bolt. I also liked how light the model I held was, as well as the short LOP. The model I saw was the 20" Micro Midas Hunter. I have a 24" Weatherby vanguard (synthetic stock) and while it shoots well, it is a big gun in comparison and well, the Browning looks gorgeous with the wood stock. The trigger on the Browning was excellent, way better than the Weatherby, though it should be since it is twice the cost.

So what are peoples opinions on the X-bolts? There is no such thing as a free lunch, so in this case is the price ($710 at KTP) the no free lunch compared to the Weatherby (which I paid around $400 for at Rileys a few years back)?
