I take the guide and recoil spring out and then pull the guide rod all the way back. When I do, the lug on the guide rod is not quite fully exposed in the rear notch. It's like the guide rod is just a bit too short. Any ideas?

I bought it at Four Seasons about 6mo ago and I'm going to bring it back tomorrow.

Got it, thanks again Mac1911.

For me, it works better if I hold the receiver vertically and simply push with both thumbs. It will then pop out with a fairly serious click.

It doesn't get used a lot and I'll probably forget how to do this again the next time.

Paul - it's "one of those things".... The oprod will loosen up with time...I find the best suggestion I got from an armorer had to do more with disposition than technique. He said to "grit your teeth" when you remove the oprod. I did and it works....Every single time....

Thanks Mark. That describes what I did. I got it apart and cleaned/lubed the thing. One painful part was I found just a bit of rust on the piston. Ugh.
