Years ago, when the bloodlust of a young hunter was coursing through my veins I wouldnt have had a second thought about dropping it.
But now I feel as though it would be more important to let it walk.
Im not being mushy or sentimental about it. I just get more pleasure seeing it alive than I would having it on my wall.

Sounds like a pretty realistic reaction to me. It would be one hell of a mount though.
In a heartbeat, to save it for the sake of its oddity is actually detrimental to the health of the herd. A moose tag is hard enough to get here in the northeast so I would not waste the opportunity.
