Change in "New Posts"?

Did something change recently where New Posts only goes back a fixed period like 2 weeks? I remember when the limit was 250 shown though it would stay at 250 even as you read if you had more. Then the limit went to 500. No date limit. It appears now to have a built in limit of 2 weeks with anything older marked "read"
