Cheapest ar upper

The m17 was built off of the AR180 type action. I think for this build you would be better off with a ar180 bolt (which rides on 2 rods and the recoil springs) and building your own trunnion for an ar barrel. an ar180 build is on my list, (gotta get the Heat treat oven built and working first and 3 other builds done)

I was looking for ar180 parts. I wasn't sure if the 180 bolt would work with a ar barrel. Or how to make the bolt rotate. I know the camming pin is on the side. Main reason I was just going to use ar15 parts cause that part is done for me .
I'm not even sure where to find ar180 parts .

I think they redid a lot of the parts to be standard ar. But yea I get ya.

I'm also looking for a cheaper upper as well to finish an extra lower that's been collecting dust..not making nice project like you but...debating between
