choosing a upper for 22lr

PS Anything over 1200 fps may not be the solution. I have a Model 1 upper that is 100% reliable with CCI Blazers. Unable to find any Blazers, I tried some CCI Stinger Mini Mags, advertised at 1240 fps. They wouldn't even feed reliably. These 22 LR uppers can be very finicky.

Are they Stingers or Mini-Mags? Two different rounds. The Stingers are high brass.

FWIW, the only stuff that doesn't function in my Spike's dedicated or Ciener kit is the Winchester bulk.

My mistake. They were "Mini Mags" rated at 1235 fps. I believe excessive lube on the bullets prvented them from chambering. I switched to Federal "Bulk Brown Box" and ran about 200 rounds through the upper with no problems.

The Spike's upper seems to be very reliable. I think the plating they use may be a factor. I will probably plate my bolt, etc. in the near future.
