It has been a long while since I have posted a thread.
I recently sold off or traded some Mausers. I realized I wasn't going to get the WW2 set of 10 ever again, and I felt that a WW2 collection of all major powers was a better fit for me approaching the elderly label. Hell, AARP is sending me joining information. I traded a Gew88 a spring 1943 NagoyaT99 with chrome, AA, mono, bayonet and frog, good luck flag (which I've asked the Japanese Embassy to return if they can find the family), 30 bullets, and reloading dies. I traded Gew98 for a bolt MM byf44 K98k (was lacking a Mauser Mauser), and my Berlin-Lubecker 30-06 Norge conversion for a matched 1933 M91/30 with sling, bayonet, and 255 rounds of 1991 Hungarian 7.62x54r and cash considerations. As I'm currently at home suffering through my 5th rotator cuff recovery with a 6th scheduled for the other shoulder in March, I won't be shooting rifles any time soon. Doesn't keep me from collecting though
. With some profits and Christmas cash, I bought a FTR 1943 Savage Enfield with Canadian and British wood from Pack and Postal, and a 1940 RSAF Enfield No. 2 Mk. 1* revolver. Lastly, I am trying to trade a bolt MM dou43 K98k for a Nambu pistol, which will then complete the pistol part of the collection.
So the representative rifles are a matched 1939 Sauer K98, 1936 matched Czech VZ24 German modified, 1943 matched Nagoya T99, 1918 Roma Fucil 1927 Moschetto conversion by Terni, matched rebuild 1933 Izevsk M91/30, 1944 Danish return Winchester Garand, and a 1943 FTR Savage Enfield with British and Canadian wood.
For Pistols, a 1940 Enfield No. 2 Mk. 1*, 1939 M95 rebuilt Nagant, 1943 Victory Revolver .38 special, 1917 Colt 1911, 1944 Walther P38, and 1917 P08 Luger. Hope to get lucky with the Nambu tomorrow.
Happy New Year,
