I was asked if I was interested in a Colt .22 conversion kit (with box) by a fella who is parting ways with some of his stuff. Was curious what these are worth , would appreciate any input...........

Well that is vague and non-specific.
I am assuming you are talking about a 1911 .22 conversion unit. Prices vary wildly depending on when it was made. The authentic serialized ace units are go thousands and are quite. The rest usually a couple hundred, depending on age and condition.

Indeed vague. There are also Colt AR 22lr conversion kits, both vintage and modern.

There are also AR conversion kits. That was my first thought, though I think those come in clamshells not boxes. Or maybe he was just trying to say it’s in the packaging…

I've got some original USAF subcaliber conversions for the m16/ar15. I also have sub caliber 22 beehive rounds for a Colt 40mm.
I've got a Colt M1917 that was converted to a 22 by some crafty smith that cost a pretty penny. [laugh][laugh][laugh]

I know little about conversion kits but think they're a great idea. I have a couple. Supposedly, the Colt Ace is a very expensive and not real accurate pistol. If the conversion kit is the same, Id pass and get a Tactical Solutions or Advantage Arms kit instead.

I have had a colt ace kit for 25+ years.
It has been great.

The only downside is that once you get one, you will just want to get a lower and have a dedicated 1911 in 22.
They really are that awesome.
