Comblock .308???

I check out a number of forums every day. And on one of the forums I read (a financial site) somebody is making reference to "Comblock .308" and saying that there were Communist countries that produced .308 ammo - and that the ammo was corrosive.

I am giving the guy a little bit of a hard time since I have NEVER heard of this in all my travels thru gun books, gun magazines - and multiple firearms oriented websites.

Anybody ever heard of Communist block countries producing corrosive .308 ??

I know china did back during the 70's (not the import stuff from the 80's) and supplied M14's and ammo to rebels in a few places. also there is currently imported Lithuanian 7.62x51 but I have not heard it is corrosive but with the former com blocs you can never be sure.
