Comm2A WINS again(!) over minor past pot conviction

They don't care. They're spending OUR money.

While this is true, if there are small towns that act like douchebags, there's a much higher chance of someone getting called out on it because its harder to sweep the legal fees under the rug. The problem with big dump cities with gun rights abuses is the legal fees amount to a rounding error in their budgets. [thinking]

True. Even wealthy small towns (at least as they see it) operate with very tight budgets. They will find money for a legal fight, of course, but they will also see that as a real cost.

To the Comm2A folks - do you ever send press releases out to the affected towns, letting the local newspapers know that the chief is wasting their money in futile legal action?

Oh, and that the chief is also breaking the law?
I am in favor of issuing a press release when legal fees are collected in cases where the town digs in its heels and refuses to pay without a federal order. I will be discussing this with the rest of the Comm2A executive committee.

On the other hand, if the town acts like professionals and coughs up the fees without a fight, I believe it is reasonable to treat them with courtesy, and discretely deposit the check to the Comm2A treasury.

Did the order for Hingham to pay up include the additional fees accrued filling the request to have the court make them pay up?

Here's the answer when I asked this a while back:

Or, wait for Rehoboth to pay Comm2a's legal fees, then write a letter to the local paper asking why this was necessary.

If anything, exposing them in the papers before the legal fee issue has run its full course could give incentive to fight the fees so as not to look negligent. Just let the system run its course, then squawk all you want.

The federal courts do not care about the defendants credibility in the court of public opinion. This is a question of law and procedure, not a public relations debate.

What happens if you get everyone to write the local papers and rattle cages and you find out that most of the people in town support the CLEO and his feet dragging for licenses? All those people call the town gov to show support and that causes the exact opposite of what you're trying to do....

LMAO. Extremely naive, you are. How do you think these shitbirds got their jobs, btw? By accident? [rofl] They get voted in by the people you're talking about. There are exceptions, but most of the bad cleos basically have HATES GUN OWNERS stamped on their forehead.
