I was sorting some 9mm brass last night and I swear that a couple of the headstamps - S&B and *I* - looked like they had crimped primer pockets.

Can anybody verify this? It's bad enough I have to load 9mm, but I'll scrap the brass before I go swaging primer pockets.

I can't confirm the 9mm, but just the other day I cam across some 40 with crimped primers. Pretty strange for a non military round!

S&B certainly has crimped pockets- I think most of their handgun brass has crimped pockets. Some people manage to prime without swaging... I honestly don't know how they do this without mashing a few primers.

I is Indepedance... very similar to CCI/Speer brass in my experience. No crimp but I think their pockets have a square edge and will "appear" to be crimped if the primer isn't lined up just perfect- you'll get the same effect.

These are some of my least favorite headstamps (Amerc is worse I'm sure but I don't
see them much. R&P reloads fine but doesn't last anywhere's near as long as Win/Fed).
