How accurate and consistent is the ballistics data from commercial ammo producers?
I recently got a new .44 magnum and just bought an assortment of different ammo for it, all being 240 gr. The Magtech ammo is rated at 1180 fps and 741 ft/lbs which seems to be standard among most commercial .44 mag and the American Eagle ammo is rated much higher at 1440 fps and 1105 ft/lbs.
