compact 45's

para ordnance offers several 3" 1911 pistols in 9mm and .45acp. If you don't like para ordnance, smith&wesson makes a 3" 1911 in .45acp that holds 7+1

I was thinking of getting a para when I was looking for a compact 1911. Maybe others had a different experience but I had a hard time finding any positive comments on them on a number of gun forum boards. You could find good reviews in gun rags, but you'd also see a bunch of Para advertisements. Always left me feeling that Para paid for the good review. After all the negatives I passed. I'll stay with S&W. Haven't had a bad one yet.

I had a Para 6.45 LDA Covert Carry and it was singularly the nicest compact 1911-type pistol I have ever owned...Even dedicated "Para-Haters" liked it, (though I swore to protect their identity [wink])....It was laser accurate for a 3" barrel and gobbled down everything I fed it - though it's diet was mostly 185gr Remington Golden Sabres. I hated to see it go, but I started carrying a 642 and it spent too much time in the safe. The proceeds from the sale funded my NES M-4, so it's memory lives on....

A used Glock G30. Look in the for sale threads and you will eventually find a good deal on one. I think there may even be one in there now with an IWB holster too.

I can't remember - is the S&W CS45 sellable in MA?

It is, I had one and loved it. Probably the most accurate gun I've ever owned. The grips however, were just too wide. Just something about the way it conceals/doesn't conceal was the reason I got rid of it. I would suggest the G30 or the Para carry LDA. Both are amazing, but a little more expensive.

I have a Para LDA Carry Model that I'm not too fond of (don't like the trigger). I tried the S&W CS45 and hated the grips.

I carried this for several years before I discovered the 1911sc. I shoot this as well as any gun it is totally dependable and extremely accurate. I like the grip size.
