I was on smith and wesson forum and someone had a 4013 in 10mm. the thing is Fin sweet and now i want one in the worst possible way. 10mm with buffalo bore JHC in a 3in barrel is somewhere around 1250fps. [smile]

So while looking into it, couldnt it be done with a 357sig also? Maybe re-chambering a 9mm barrel? I dont know the dimension of the 9mm barrel vs the 40 barrel? Hell i dont even know if would work

There would be a problem with converting a 9mm barrel into a 357Sig. Yes you can ream the barrel chamber of the 9mm barrel to fit the 357Sig round and have the step to 9mm using a 357Sig reamer and maybe there will be enough left of the chamber so it won't come apart on you. This I am not so sure about. I have done this with 1911 barrels, however there is a lot more chamber wall and I can get barrels with over sized hoods. The other problem is the 9mm barrel hood is more narrow then the breach on the 40 slide. I would not want to try this conversion, the chamber wall may be to thin and this could be an unsafe conversion. As far as making a 40 a 10mm all you have to do is rechamber the 40 barrel just ream it deaper and there should be no problems or get a S&W 10mm barrel. I am not sure the 40 mags will fit the longer 10mm round you may need to get some 10mm mags. The older S&W gen 3 guns were over built so the frame and slide should be OK.
