So I have a nice 3rd gen glock 32 (357 sig), but the ammo is so darn expensive and difficult to find. I was thinking of converting it to a G19 (9mm). what exactly do I need to convert it? I know obviously that the magazine and barrel need to be changed, but do i need a certain barrel? what about the spring/guide rod? are the internals/slide all the same?

Thanks

Go with the Lone Wolf barrel, they are the best out there:
This is the model you need:

Other than that, grab some 9mm Glock 19 magazines and you are good to go.

The only other thing you "could" change is the extractor. The extractor in your gun now is the "striaght" version from the 23 and 32, you could replace it with the "bent" 9mm extractor from the 19... This is only needed if you are getting all your brass thrown straight back in your face when you fire.

I had this barrel for my Glock 23 and periodically had the shells come back and bop me on the head. I didnt mind it much because I wear shooting glasses and a hat when I shoot so it was no concern. Plus I was just lazy because to change the extractor you need to completely strip the lower, and even though Im a Glock Armorer, I just like simply swapping out the barrel and grabbing my 9mm mags when I wanted to change calibers, not have to go through the extractor change everytime. I guess if you planned on changing the 32 to 9mm for an "extended" period of time it might be more worth while.

Hope this helps! [grin]

thanks! I am looking for a semi-permanent / permanent swap. I was originally looking to trade my G32 for a G19, but am noticing a severe shortage of G19's round these parts.

this

*unless you plan on carrying it of course. which i probably would NOT do, even though mine has been 100% reliable w / both barrels. -i also use a lone wolf 40 to 9 for my G23.

if you plan on carrying, i'd go with an entire Glock 19 slide and internals (IMO only)...

I bought a threaded Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel for my G23. At first, I tried to chamber a reloaded round using military brass. The round got stuck in there and no way to get it out. I ended up using a dowel and pushed it back from the muzzle end. Not a pleasant thing to do.

The LW barrel works great with Blazer alum case and Winchester white box ammo. I have not tried any reloads using regular brass.

Ejections work fine.

I'm reading pretty mixed reviews about going from 357/40 to 9mm. Think I'm just going to keep my WTT G32 for G19 ad up in the classified, thanks for the input guys.

Why not convert to the dreaded .40 S+W? Ammo will be much cheaper, is easy to find, and if you reload, there is brass all over the place... and all you'll need is a barrel, everything else is the same.

used to have a G23, hated it. the diminished capacity wasnt worth the gain in stopping power to me. I got into the .357sig on a whim, but wish I had gone w/ the 9mm (once again less stopping power, more capacity but also less over penetration). I know there is the age old 9mm has no stopping power argument, but I have yet to see anyone volunteer to take a 9mm center mass to prove it has no stopping power.
