ok...so this is totally not related to guns...but i was wondering if anyone owns a crossbow

i was messin around on the dick's website and saw that they sold crossbows...i have a compound bow and love to shoot it cuz its something i can do in my backyard...i was thinkin of maybe pickin up a crossbow before theres some kind of idiotic ban on them too (who knows in this state)

i was wondering if anyone had one or could give me any recommendations

and yes i know you cant hunt with them (unless disabled)...itd just be something to screw around with in the back yard

A buddy has one, he got a note from his Dr. so he can hunt with his...I have shot it a few times and find it to be quite loud compared to a compound bow and no more accurate (And quite a bit more expensive I think he paid like $1200 set up, compared to the $600 I paid for my bow). He was shooting it at the same targets I shoot with my compound and I am more consistant than he is.

I got a crossbow recently and enjoy shooting it in the basement.

Ct made crossbows ok for hunting so I got one to try it out and it's fun to shoot it here in the house.

I got a Barnett Recruit with the rope cocking device along with a styrofoam target to shoot it here and catch the bolts.

I have a older crossbow it's not the most powerfully thing but it's fun out to about 30 yards I can hit milk jugs with it. I want to mine is a vixen and runs about 225fps?
