A couple of my friends and I went to the casino the other day, (Mohegan Sun), and Chris asked me if I had a firearm on me. I told him that I didn't, because while the reservation is in CT, it's NOT Connecticut land, and my permit isn't valid there.
Which led to another conversation, where another guy who's a friend of my friends told me that he could carry a firearm in CT on his MA license. He was quite insistent that Connecticut honors "like 17 other states, including Massachusetts".
Uh, no. Absolutely not. CT doesn't honor anyone else's permit. You CAN get a non-resident permit fairly easily, assuming you have a resident permit from your own state, but they don't have reciprocity with any other state. Other states honor CT's permit, but it's a one way street.
He got a bit heated about it, and I let it go. Told him I knew he was wrong, and since he's the one from MA, carrying a firearm in CT, he should go check the laws because it's his ass on the line, not mine.
