anyone have any experience with buying, shooting CZ full size or compacts. Also can you buy them in Mass? Or are they like glocks pre Oct 1998s only.

are the only dealers in NH?

thx

Nothing CZ makes is MA compliant. At all. Yeah, there are papered pre-98 CZ75s out there but they are relatively rare.

There have been rumblings bout them adding stuff to the list but I just don't see it happening, frankly.

I owned a CZ SP01 Shadow Custom.... gun was amazing. I had to sell it due to money problems. I still miss that thing.

thanks I shot one today and loved it, I was at a IDPA match and saw a new one CZ75 a guy had that he tricked out, it was sweet, I had lust in my heart, too bad I live in Mass

Guns like the Shadow SP01 will most likely never be offered for sale in MA. These DA/SA guns are rather primitive; they have an ambidextrous thumb safety, but no firing pin safety. The slide resembles a Series 70 1911 in this area.

I brought my CZ75B yesterday to a shoot around with a couple buddies. The damn thing just shoots where you aim... every time.

Yeah, it is kinda homely. Yeah, it does not have the finish of a finely tuned pro shop gun. The trigger was a bit gritty when new.

But it has this comfy feel of an old pair of shoes. It balances really well and sights in beautifully. And it is a natural shooter.

One of the guys at yesterdays shoot around said he was going to trade in his handgun this week and get a CZ(a guy who lives in NH). He was blown away by how well it shot for him first time out.

A lot of times when I bring shooters to the range I'll lay out three or four 9mm handguns. Generally I'll have a couple of Sigs, the CZ, and a Smith or something. At the end I'll as which one they liked and a very high percentage of the time it is the CZ.

It's just like that comfy old pair of slippers that aren't the pretties things on earth but always keep your feet warm and fit your foot perfects.

You are correct, the Shadow does not have a firing pin block. It's the only model in the SP01 series that does not have one. The SP-01, SP-01 Tactical, and SP-01 Phantom models do have a firing pin block.

Despite the protestations of CZ and their reps, the Shadow was purpose built for IPSC competition. The lack of trigger operated firing pin safeties makes it much easier to get a light, crisp match trigger.

I have some factory and custom shop CZ's. Even a NIB SP01 Shadow Target custom black that soon will make someone in MA very happy and poor[laugh]

THEY ARE VERY NICE GUNS. The 75's are great, but the Custom Shop Shadows are such amazing guns there really are no words to describe them.

And their bolt action .22's (452 specifically) are equal works of precision art.

I had one of their CZ75B's (.40), but I wasn't all that impressed with the metal finish, it seemed rather crude compared to the other guns I own.
However, I checked out a 452 Scout last weekend at Rileys and was impressed with the quality.
I have a boatload of .22's, mostly lever guns plus a few pumps and semis, but no bolt actions.
For $300 bucks I'm seriously considering grabbing one of these.

A bolt action .22 is fun. I scored an old Marlin model 782 .22magnum a few months back. It is so much fun to shoot. Bolt action with a 7 round mag.
