It's my understanding they were legal up until H4885 along with Shockwaves and just needed a frame transfer. They weren't shotguns by definition in the state so they were "firearms". By state definition, not federally. Now they'd need to be on the pistol roster since that loophole is closed.
You couldn’t MAKE (form 1) a SBS from an existing shotgun but you could buy a SBS that had been manufactured as a SBS. The KSG SBS is kinda crazy.
I believe you can make an sbs from a shockwave as it was an other. Pretty sure we can’t buy an sbs already made here but maybe I have it backwards. Before the new law was passed you could buy a virgin receiver and build one also but as I stated above thats done with the new law. Unless you could buy your receiver out of state.

I get what he is saying but the convoluted lengths people were putting out as hypotheticals iirc was the issue, Buying anything from an 07 that is a SBS should have been GTG. The issue is MAKING which a person does, and manufacturing, which an 07 (manufacturer) does. With the new laws it’s a clown show no matter what. But factory SBSs were allowed not that long ago.
