Something you can do is share your actual position with your phone using Google Maps. I've done it a few times. You can set an expiration time. So you can share your location with someone, for a day, for example. That way, they know exactly where you are should something happen.I text a screen shot of my truck location and where I'm sitting from onx hunt app to my wife, son, and brother every time I hunt alone.
Always have my cell phone and when I text the screenshots I let the same 3 people know when I plan to be back to my truck.
As far as extra clothes and stuff to spend the night......I'm never more than 1.5 miles from.my truck and by letting 3 people know my plan and screenshots of where I parked and where I sit I'd be found within an hour of them not getting a text or call that I got back to my truck at the time I told told them I'd be done. That's when I hunt locally
Up north we dont hubt alone and have a small amount of food for overnight, fire starter, matches, and clothes on us.
