As always, Kim Ahrends' grips are a fantastic value.

I love wood on revolvers. All of mine have wood on them except my S&W 500. For that one I keep the rubber on to help absorb the recoil. Otherwise I'd get wood for that one to.

I've got probably 20 revolvers and I think only one has rubber. It's a DW .22 and I can't find wood for it or it would have it too.

Here's 3 with the Ahrend's on the 66 in the center. They're the same color as yours but don't look it in the pic.

I have gone the other way. On my hi-powered revolvers 44mag, 10mm and the PD version 357's I have switched to rubber. All of these guns came with wood grips and the wood looks great, however the rubber is more comfortable to shoot and I am a shooter not a looker.

I shoot the crap out of my guns. However, I shoot Specials about 95% of the time through my Magnum revolvers. The few times that I need or want to shoot magnum ammo, my hand does not feel it much.

TBP, I don't do it just for looks.

I experience LESS recoil with Kim Ahrends' grips compared to rubber Hogues because of how well Ahrends fit my hand.

The kinetic energy is still be transfered to you, I would go with the energy absorbing rubber composition material over wood any day for one reason.
