DPMS Panther Arms AP4 Carbine

I think DPMS makes a decent rifle, but do a little searching. There are some indicators of "slippage" in DPMS QC. I have read everything from loose fitting receivers, to improperly or inadequately staked carrier keys, to improperly cut chambers, to substandard LPK's. Take everything you read on the Internet with a grain of salt, but there's enough out there to at least give incentive to take a close look at the gun before you buy. You will likely be fine and I don't necessarily think you should pass if it's a good deal, but perhaps you can get a look-see inside and make sure all is right with the world.

To further what MassMark stated, there are at least two dozen AR manufactures in this country, not including custom builders offering many different variations. It might be best to do some more research on the net to find out what these different manufactures offer. DPMS is on the lower end of the spectrum of AR manufactures. Colt being on the top. Personally I have nothing against DPMS but I have read some negative accounts about their rifles. Mostly poor QC, and tight chambers. On the positive they do make many AR models, with competitive prices. There is even the option to build your own buy buying a lower then finding an upper.
