I have a Scorpion Evo 3+ Carbine that I am going to SBR soon. I am trying to decide between finding a smith to cut the barrel down and thread it so I can attach a flash suppressor, or simply buying a new barrel. New 7"-8" barrels seem to be about $250-$300 v whatever a smith would charge. Thoughts and recommendations? Anyone done this?

Personally I’d get a new barrel with threading and 3 lug. That’s sort of what I did when I shortened my Evo3 S1. I got a HBI 5.3” bull barrel added a ILWT 3lug adapter and it’s been great. Maybe you can sell your old barrel to recoop some money back.
