Favorite 1911 in 9MM?

I saw a beautiful Infinity 1911 9x19 on the belt of a Texas Ranger when I was in the Dallas area. That would definitely be my top pick.

So I must ask being new I have started shopping for a 1911 and very recently I went into a local shop and asked if they had any, and then was told by the person working there that I couldn't get one in Ma. It is starting to seem to me this was not true.

Re: 1jeep
Did you ask for a Colt 1911 or just a 1911? There is a difference in this shithole.
What shop? Stupid salesman should have said I can't get you a new Colt but I can get you a new X, X, X, ........

I only asked if they had any 1911's in 9mm, it was actually the owner and he was sort of cocky about it even though I had explained that I was new...so I turned and left. Its too bad for him as he is a local shop in my town and wont be seeing me anytime in the future.

I wont name which shop but in live in Acushnet ma and I wasn't standing in AJ's.

I've had a Auto Ordnance wide body I like a lot. Despite what some people say about them it runs like
a sewing machine. I also have a S&W Pro Series I just love to death.
Also as a bit of trivia, the 1911's in the Wild Bunch movie were Star 9MM's.

Nice[cheers]. Another vote for a DW PM9. Here's my PM9 that I had hard chromed, action job (~3.5lb trigger), Harrison Extreme trigger, Dawson magwell, and VZ super scoop grips. Stupidly accurate. View attachment 163274

I have a DW Guardian, 9mm 4", amazing gun. I also had the Pointman 5" but didn't want to be greedy and sold it to a friend. The workmanship is second to none. The action between the upper and lower is firm, but like butter smooth. Definitely a top performance 1911.

What about the Sig Sauer 1911 Traditional "Match Elite" Stainless in 9mm, anyone have one and would add it to their list? Perhaps on a budget if not outright.

I didn't think much of Sig 1911s until I took a class at, of all places Sig.

One guy happened to bring his sig as a back up along with a high end custom 1911 he had thousands of dollars of work done on it by JoJo's in CT.

Within the first hour he was having problems with the custom job. He thinks it had to do with the light weight and strange profile of the magsafe frangible ammo we had to use at Sig.

Either way, he switched to his external extractor equipped Sig 1911 (oh the humanity!!) and it ran flawlessly for the duration of the class. I put 1600 rounds down range from my G19 in 2 days. So I figure he ran at least 1200 through the Sig.

I have a Sig TME 9 and a Dan Wesson PM-9. If the DW is out of your price range, I think the Sig is the next best thing out there. I also have a few Sig 1911s in 45 and all have been completely reliable.

The DW is a little more accurate but also had a tighter chamber so it's a little more picky about ammo. The Sig eats anything.

I have checked out the SIG and it is very nice. The traditional model would be my choice if I didn't have the STI and if I didn't intend to steal Andrew's DW if he leaves it unattended when I'm around.
