Favorite 1911 in 9MM?

I stopped by the Sig Pro Shop yesterday to checkout the 1911 Traditional in 9mm.
Clearly it does not have the fit and finish of custom pistols but it seems a good value, and I am looked toward getting one.

First, I have to decide whether to throw down the dough or wait till I complete another deal -- I am going to be selling one of my ham radio amps (AL-1500 with Eimac tube).
Second, I will have to find a source here in the PRM.

The third an final thing I will have to do is find a way to make the pistol look larger in photos -- yes that is a full size 1911 disappearing into in my ham sized hands.

P.S.> I cropped the photo not for anonymity but rather that I am so strikingly handsome it would have distracted from the pistol. [laugh]

what was the price on that Baby

I have STIs in 9mm and think they are the best thing out there for semi-production pistols. While the S&W 1911 9mm is nice, i like the STI trojan for less money, or the Edge, Trojan for more money :).

Has anyone compared the CZ Dan Wesson to an STI?

So, I ended up getting the Sig Sauer "Stainless Match Elite" in 9mm.

I swapped out the stock Hogue black wood grips for a set of these LOK Grips that are a G10/Wood laminate, and I picked up a couple Dawson Precision 10 magazines (shown below with stock 9 rnd mag).

The best one I saw was an SVI 9x19, single stack, being carried in a Yaqui Slide style holster by a Texas Ranger.

Sig ultra compact 9mm 1911 this thing only hits center target!

I have this one also and I picked up a gun that was built by a gunsmith don't know who built it. It is a full size built on a Ruger frame all stainless with a fiber optic front sight no other markings the trigger is sweet and its very accurate.

Really nice Catsnout. It's too late now, but I was going to recommend the SAO Sig 226 Legion. No, it's not a 1911, but very similar since it's single action only and has the same safety setup as a 1911. The triggers are absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, not Mass. compliant, so you might have difficulty getting one if you are in Mass.

Sig 1911 is the cats meow... so to speak. STAY AWAY FROM THE REMINGTON R1....steaming pile of crap. Per their cust.serv. rep...."guess we have a problem with the 9mm version ". Horrible horrible gun and customer service. Spent my refund on the Sig.
