Fb fnx 45 tactical vs h&k usp 45 tactical.

Well I didn't have the 45 caliber versions but I did have a 40 S&W USP and FNX, the USP 40 and FNX 40 and I prefered the FNX. I liked the way it felt in my hand, it had different backstraps with different textures to customize with, and I think it shot better. Also, the USP had a barrel with polygonal rifling which does not play well with lead if you plan to reload/use lead rounds. Not sure if the 45 caliber USP uses polygonal rifling as well so you may want to research that.

Thanks for your input. Any idea other than the threaded barrell if there is any significant upgrades from the tactical to the regular? I'm considering the fn as it's slightly less expensive. May consider the 9mm as we'll.

I believe the differences are the threaded barrel and the combat night sights on the FNX tactical.

Thanks jpm it seemed too obvious like I was missing something, but it's the barrell talker sites, and the slide is milled for a red dot. I think I'll go with the non tactical

I have an FNP Tactical and i love it, shoots great and very accurate. I honestly wish it wasn't polymer, but it would probably weigh a ton. Feels like a cheap 1911 but as thick as a Glock 30, better trigger than a Glock. Oh ya, good luck finding 10 round mags if u care about that. I think hi caps are readily available now, be prepared to pay $50 bucks a mag. i literally just got a 10 rounder on backorder from January or February. I like it cause of the rarity in this state. i'll never sell it.

In my opinion if you are gonna go with a 9mm i wouldn't get an Fn, i'd rather a Glock.

unfortunately no trigger time with either, but i would be more inclined to buy the FN because fvck H&K

Going quiet thanks for the offer but I'm in mass. I was thinking about the tactical model as we'll buy being in mass the threaded barrell is useless, so the other upgrades would be the night sites the case and the milled slide. The price is much higher on the tactical. I have a glock 19 and 21 so I was just thinking if adding something different.

For whatever it is or isn't worth, I bet the FN has LESS muzzle flip than the HK does. The USP .45s have stupidly high bore axis... if you have oven mitts for hands though, it won't be as much of an issue... but I conservatively estimate that my USPs had an order of magnitude more muzzle flip than my G21SF does. The HK45 LEM I had for awhile seemed somewhat less flippy than the USPs, but the G21SF is still better. I more or less have girl hands, and at this point the only .45s I can hang onto are Glocks and 1911s. I'd love to try an FN for a spin, though.... eventually. [laugh]

The FNX does have a low bore axis and is less flippy in my experience with the FNX40 and USP40

According to the internet and Hickok 45 the fn is very soft shooting and very accurate. I also like the fact it had a decocker but can be carried cock with the safety on. Trigger is supposed to be real nice too.

I have a usp 45 ct as my moniker implies. The C is for compact as I carry it occasionally. I did have the trigger reworked. It has an incredibly crisp and consise trigger. I recommend it highly, but I have never shot a n FNX so I cannot give you an assessment.

i have the fnp45 tactical and the usp 45 tactical. the trigger is a little mushy on the fn but i love having the reflex sight. the usp is probably more accurate cuz of the o-ring on the barrel. to me, it feels like the fnp has more muzzle flip.

the usp has been perfectly reliable, i had issues with federal walmart ammo being too long and jamming up the fnp mags, but i read that newer mags may have solved that issue. the fnp has interchangeable backstraps with 2 different textures.

usp has better quality feel but all in all, both are really nice guns. for the most part, i take the fnp every range trip, the usp stays in the safe

Thanks for for the reminder, the USP I have will positively NOT shoot reloads. The round fires, but the shell does not eject. Factory ammo, no problem, reloads. No way. Tried 3 different types from 3 different reload refs, all did not go over well.

Polygonal rifling in the usp as we'll I think, so no lead ammo. Putting the reflex type sight on the fnx tactical is a draw but I don't know if that feature alone is worth the 500 bucks more roughly. If I was in nh the tactical would be a no brainier as a suppressor could be added.

This is weird I had most of the USP product line and I fed them my reloads for years, no problems. The ONLY issue I ever had was that if you load 230 FMJs too long some will just start to engage the rifling upon chambering.... you might have to crank down the OAL a little bit if you want to easily be able to unload your pistol without shooting it. I have the tactical model in stock.

I haven't shot the H&K, but I own an FNH FNX-9, and that pistol shoots the balls. It's awesome. I wish I have an FNX-45. I'm considering a FNS-9 when I move to Cow Hampshire someday.

Truth be told, though, the stippling is slightly uncomfortable on the FN, whereas a Sig Sauer is more comfortable, but stippling is easy to fix up.

I LOOOOOVE my FN.

Please don't post how you ship them in an open forum. Also please get a PM function to exchange phone numbers.

That being said I really want the fnx 45, fnx 9 and a glock 30 ha ha

Does the fnx 9 have the same safety/ decocker the fnx 45 does?
