Not local to Northeast, but notable all the same. Maybe a start of a national "tour"?

ATF, Cathedral City Police to Conduct Federal Firearms Licensee Seminar Next Month

LOS ANGELES, May 4 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Cathedral City Police
Department will sponsor a training opportunity next month for all federal
firearms licensees.
The seminar will be conducted Thursday, June 7, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm, at
the Cathedral City Council Chambers, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral
City.
Federal firearms licensees will receive instruction on the completion
of ATF Form 4473; the Acquisition and Disposition Record requirements and
ATF inspections. ATF industry operations investigators, as well as
representatives from the California Department of Justice, will be
available to answer any questions.
"Historically, we've received very positive feedback from industry
members who've attended our seminars," said Earl Kleckley, director of
industry operations, ATF Los Angeles Field Division. "Aside from receiving
topical information relative to bureau policy and procedures, attendees
have an opportunity to raise questions that may be unique to their specific
operations."
Anyone interested in attending the seminar needs to contact the ATF
Industry Operations Office at (714) 347-9160 no later than May 25 to place
their attendance reservation.

They "occasionally" do this. I attended one in Worcester a number of years ago.
