I finally just ordered an Apex kit for my shield along with some Truglo night sights. The white dot fell out of my front sight the last time I was at the range so I can justify new sights now. And I'm really sick of the Ma trigger so that's going as well. Maybe I'll be able to consistently hit the target afterward. I'm excited [smile]

Good move Boomer! I just got my Shield back from the smith with a new trigger and Dawson fiber sights. I don't know why but two of three dots on the factory sights popped out as well on mine. Hard to believe they can't solve that problem.
Mechanically the gun has never missed a beat but with a good trigger and sights it's a different beast and a keeper.

Well, I installed the kit last night and took it to the range today after work today and WOW!! What a dramatic difference. Instead of the usual "non grouping" I was consistently making about 4" groups at about 25 feet. I now have a gun that I will really enjoy shooting. Time to get back downstairs and make some more reloads.

I played with a couple Shields at the store yesterday. That stock trigger is disgusting. I'm no expert, but I think S&W ships them filled with dirt and sponges. I was considering getting one instead continuing my search for a mythical PM9 until I felt that trigger. Congrats on upgrading yours!

Oh yeah, and one of the rear sight dots wasn't even fully filled with white. On a brand new gun? S&W must just be cranking these things out.

With that being said, a new trigger and sights and I'd be on board.
