Christopher Reber, who in September pleaded no contest to five felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, was sentenced Friday to two concurrent life sentences without the possibility of parole after blasting his way into a Palm City home with a sawed-off shotgun in 2009.

Authorities allege Reber, of Stuart, used his weapon to blow through the sliding glass doors of his former employer’s house in an apparent robbery attempt at the 1500 block of Southwest Crossing Circle in Palm City on April 16, 2009.

After blasting glass and shotgun pellets into the living area, Reber chased Linda Schultz, who was living at the home at the time, to a second-story bedroom where she was able to get her .40-caliber handgun.....
