24-year-old man charged for shooting at Pensacola Police officers
Corey Joseph Marioneaux Jr., 24, is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
Pensacola Police says its SWAT team attempted to serve a search warrant at a home when Marioneaux Jr. fired a shot at an officer. The bullet hit the officer's shield.
The FDLE is now investigating the officer-involved shooting.
Police launch internal affairs investigation into baby injured in Pensacola Police custody
"I get out my car like, 'Where's my baby? Where's my baby?'" Dixon said. "And I get my baby and I see his face -- and it's almost unrecognizable compared to how he looked when I left him last."

A picture shows the 1-year-old's nose and lip swollen, a scrape on his lip, scratches on his nose and several bumps on his forehead. Dixon's first thought -- "Who did this?"
Upon returning, Pensacola Police says the investigator didn't notice the child leaning on the door. When the investigator opened it, police say the child fell out of the car.

So a father was asleep at home with his two kids, 1 & 3, when the police bust in the door around 4:30 a.m. Dad fires one shot at the door because he wakes up and just sees a guy in his house. Realizes after he shoots that it's a cop and puts the gun down.

With hands up, the dad is apologizing profusely. The cops apparently had a warrant but it wasn't for the dad. It was for computer equipment that belonged to someone else. They charge the dad with attempted murder on a police officer.

In the process, the police take the kids and drop the 1 y/o causing severe trauma to the baby's head. They tried to cover it up. Didn't tell the dad that they dropped his kid. Prevented EMS from taking the kid to the hospital.

Maybe if he didn't want his baby yeeted onto the ground he should not have stolen computers in his house.

If he was sleeping next to his gun, he's lucky the baby didn't take it and shoot itself in the head.

Arrest report sheds more light on Pensacola Police officer-involved shooting
According to the arrest report obtained Friday, an officer "knocked on the front door numerous times while also announcing loudly, 'Pensacola Police, search warrant!'" The officer continued to do this for approximately 10 seconds.
The report adds police interviewed multiple neighbors who all said they heard "officers announcing themselves" while inside their homes. Channel 3 spoke to a neighbor on Friday who said she woke up to gunshots, but never heard police.
I wonder how many fat slobs could make it to the door in 10 seconds at 5AM after having been asleep.

Allegedly, SWAT was after a computer that was in the possession of someone other than Marioneaux.

I sleep next to my gun. It's on the nightstand next to my bed in an open lock box.

I'd never make it to the door in 10 seconds even if I was awake and ready to go. Bedroom is upstairs.

If it was during the night they'd have to wait for me to get out of bed, put on my prosthetic leg and then go downstairs to the door.

Don't worry, they won't wait, they'll come to you. Public service, and all.

Oh, best make sure your prosthesis is pointed in a safe direction - the cops have probably seen this training film:

Alton Brown just did a catfish version of that, as I scrolled to the post! [shocked][rofl]
He's probably the only actual example of Better Living Through Chemistry.

Sidebar: Little Steven worships Nancy, and he programs enough of her obscure songs
on SXM Underground Garage that I discovered she actually had pipes.

I was wondering what happened to these,

The locking box,
and the socket in the floor,
but not the bar or the key,
was in one of Number One Nephew's apartments in Allston
within the past 6-8 years or so.

I've sent an inquiry, and will get back with the answer.

It was an apartment over the (now) Dollar Tree
next to the (ex-)City Sports on Comm Av.

The outside of the building looks less beat than the inside.

I have to think that even back in the day, Fox Police Locks
were more likely to be added by tenants than landlords.
