OK a shooter has an idea of the 1911 he wants. He goes to the trouble of drawing a detailed computer rendering, then sends it to me. He had some very specific ideas he wanted which was fine. He even provided a full color scheme. My job was to make it all real, some minor changes had to be made but the finished 1911 made him very happy. The slide and frame are Caspian, the barrel is a six inch Kart cut down and tapered for a 5 inch slide. It's threaded long for whatever he wants, but may need to come back for a trim if he goes that route. It's really just for visual effect I think. The trigger is a Greider with holes ala C.T. Brian which he asked for. The frame is checkered 20LPI and high cut. The sights are Warren Tactical tritium Sevigny. The slide stop and thumb safety are Wilson. As is the hammer. The finish is graphite black Cerakote and the silver parts are hard chromed as is the barrel. The slide to frame is fit on the surface grinder for the closest possible fit. Trigger is 3.5 pounds crisp break. Enjoy.

LOL, that's too funny. I thought the guy came up with this all himself. Had a few movie gun builds cross my desk for pricing in the past. But this is the first video game gun I've built.

Gorgeous.

The only comment I have is that I don't like standard 1911 grips. I prefer the magwell grips without the bevel and mainspring housing pin cutout. Even if the gun doesn't have a magwell. I think a set of those grips would really complete it. It just looks so much cleaner.

Other than that I love the full diamond checkering.

Don
(p.s.) Les Baer uses these grips on most of his guns.

p.p.s. This gun can't compare to your work. But here's a pic of my DW PM9 with a set of the Baer grips. Its such a clean look, it would REALLY look nice on the gun you built.

Thank you, That's a nice Dan Wesson. I worked on a Valor this year and was impressed with the quality.

this is probably the greatest thing ive seen on this forum. Well done! nerds everywhere are amazed.

Its a great gun, but it isn't even in the same league with what you build. I got a chance to check out their shop in NY before the fire almost 2 years ago. Its a nice group of guys. The DWs really are hand made and back then they were selling this for $1100 to pistol instructors, I couldn't resist.
