So I went to order a Super Vepr yesterday, but as I was soul searching trying to ignore my wife during our Saturday gun shop exploring,I somehow managed to talk myself out of it...yeah I know but I did.

So I ended up buying an IZ-102 and a IZ-240 for conversion and placed a Molot Vepr in 7.62x54r 20.5" on order which all total came to pretty close to the same price as the super vepr.

The funny thing was it was my Gram who has been dead for 25 years that talked me out of it...As running around the old Childworld toy store I always picked the biggest expensive latest toy on the market, and my Gram would say"Now ........ you sure you want that one toy?... for that price you can get alot of little ones".

So that's what I did,in the long run it will put my project back log well into this winter which is what I wanted as I still have 2 Saigas Shotguns left to convert.

After these conversions and the Vepr Sniper project I will be flat ass broke....like no new guns for the next 2 years broke..wife is a tad pissed but that will blow over.I don't usually post this babble but it makes me feel justified.

That and I really think after dealing with conversions and kits,I really think the most stupid law on the planet is the 922r...I mean really I would my left nut not to have to deal with it anymore.

Pictures will come in due time as I want them to be picture perfect.

What are you planning on for stocks and grips as the Veprs have slant cut receivers?

I don't know yet, once I have it in hand I can start to brain storm...my first thought was to rivit flares to square it off.I am totally NOT a woodworker, wood and I don't get along.

Seems like everyone's wives get pissed. My girl.got pissed because I showed up with a new PPS and a lower.
She was pissed, I even told her that the German gun matches our German dogs, but that didn't work.
Fast forward 9 hours and now she is in a good mood. :)

By the way, good buy.

Of course they do, they are only doing what they have been "trained" to do![laugh] Something I have learned: Every time my wife gets a package from UPS, Fedex, etc, I make a mental note. Then, when the "how much did THAT cost" argument begins, I ask for a running tally of all those deliveries. After proclaiming "I returned some of those" she retreats. Case closed. Works for golf and for guns!

yes, I forgot about that. The first thing she asked, after getting pissed, was the price. She started guessing, her first guess was $1K. I told her she was way off, she kept guessing and I told her to go look online. For some reason all her guesses were over $700.

Then she asked me to buy something shiny instead of more guns (meaning a ring) so I said: "yes, I think I will buy some bling for this gun, maybe I should get some gold plated grips [I was sarcastic]" [smile]

Well I cancelled my order on the Vepr yesterday after ordering most of my conversion parts for the two Saigas it put me way above my budget,so cancelling the Vepr eased the pain a bit.
