I didn't want to ask this in one of the monitored threads, but does anyone think this might be like the Tavor, ok to buy? I don't think it's a copy of anything.

Galil is an AK variant, so Maura will probably consider it a "copy" even if it would pass the interchangeable parts test. I think it's like the AR-10 in that regards.

Galil is mentioned by name, not sure about the ACE style, though:
any of the weapons, or copies or duplicates of the weapons, of any caliber, known as: (i) Avtomat Kalashnikov (AK) (all models); (ii) Action Arms Israeli Military Industries UZI and Galil; (iii) Beretta Ar70 (SC?70); (iv) Colt AR?15; (v) Fabrique National FN/FAL, FN/LAR and FNC

The ACE in 7.62x39 is a copy of an AK, clearly, but in 7.62x51 can it be a copy of an AK? I guess it's like an AR10 as someone said.

The bolded text also includes the phrase, "of any caliber, known as..."

So a 5.56 AK is considered a copy, or a 7.62x39 AR, etc.
