Garden pests

We've had an aggressive pair of squirrels wreaking havoc on our property for a few months. Zapped them a couple times with the Crosman 1377, hoping they'd run off to croak elsewhere but that was just an annoyance to them. Just hammered one on our deck rail with the Benjamin Marauder and a 22 cal Predator Metal Mag pellet.

Instant lights out- I was impressed.

Use these all the time

Finally nailed the smaller of the two squirrels that had been causing me headaches. This one started to bolt so I went for a center of mass shot and knocked it off the deck rail. We've had squirrels off and on over the years but those two SOB's were incredibly destructive.

Besides chewing up the stairs a couple days ago they dug up a flower box and dumped a bunch of dirt on my new patio furniture right before it rained. I might actually get some ripe tomatoes now.

They’re sending reinforcements. I thought I tattooed the damn thing that was ripping up my garden and after a couple days several came by looking for their buddy. And they kept his work going…

my neighbor has called me a garden pest on occasion. he likes to make noise when i raid his tomatoes. so good, worth a beat down.

Opened up new territory for others

Yup- that's exactly what happened. Got rid of the two worst offenders and thought I'd have a little more time before their reinforcements arrived on the scene. That's OK- I just positioned some heavy armament on the deck- my new squirrel bazooka:

WCS in Connecticut makes this tube trap. Also got a stubby version of the same that I'll set up elsewhere. We'll see how it goes.

Update: Holy crap! Maybe 10-15 minutes after posting I heard a 'bang' on the deck. Was doing work emails so took a while to check and yup- first squirrel. Reset it, tossed the varmint, sat down, and 'bang' there's another. Not as much fun as the suppressed Marauder (it's an air rifle, Maura) but damn effective.

Three squirrels within a couple hours yesterday afternoon and evening and one chipmunk this morning. This trap makes a mess of chipmunks, so you'll need a garden hose for clean up.

8/10 - Total of 4 squirrels now and 3 chipmunks. I may actually get some tomatoes from the containers now. Mixed opinion on the chipmunks- glad to be rid of them but this thing really blows them up- it's disgusting LOL.
