Just noticed Derk's response adding GearPay.com as a possible way to pay for membership. I checked their website, saw they're PRO-GUN and got an account. Nice way to pay for gun-related purchases, with no problems due to the merchandise being Gun-Related.

Dang...I think I just found myself a new payment option. [smile] Thanks Nickie baby!

Don't thank me, thank Derek and IIRC, Ken. They put it up as an Alternative to PayPal, so, I established an account myself. I'm wondering what percentage cut they're getting.

At least they're Pro-Gun. PayPal isn't, but they're not Anti-Gun, either. Just cautious, and don't know the business (afraid of litigation as ewll).

Does GearPay process against charge cards or only via your bank account? I couldn't tell the answer to that by looking at their website and have no need to setup an account yet.

I would never trust PayPal to access my checking account.

I don't let many folks access my checking account. If they take out something that they shouldn't, you'd have to sue to get it back, as the bank and laws offer NO protection to you. Folks at the late DEC found this out the hard way with Met-No-Pay, etc. I tend to learn from others' mistakes rather than insisting on making all my own!

Len, I keep limited money in my Checking Account, and monitor it closely. I keep the serious money in my Savings, at the same bank. My "Credit Card" is a Debit Card, same account.

I have real credit cards, don't use any debit cards.

I allow PayPal to access one credit card. Anything funky and I use my legal recourse thru the credit card company to reverse the charges. Can't do that with checking accounts.

I'm like Nickle. I don't own a single credit card. Everything with a debit card.

And I keep all my money in one account. When I need to use the debit card or buy something. I go online and move the money into my account. Then I buy it...

All I use is the debit card too. I had one company take money out that they should not have and I went to my bank. I told them they were not authorized to take that money. I guess it's because it's got the Visa logo on it, the bank refunded the amount debited right then and there and they went after the company that took it out. (btw - the company had been authroized at one point, but then I fired them. They took money out after I dumped them, so that's how they had the account number.)
