So while the new glock 42 has grabbed all the attention both good and bad, has anyone got their hands on the 41? The 41 definitely interests me.

I haven't shot one but I got to hold one at acme :( . Adam and Nicole like to tease me for living in mass.

Lol.

It felt nice in my hand , I can't comment on balance with a loaded mag tho. But empty it felt nice.

Saw Hickock45 shooting it the other day, looks like a winner... only weird aspect is the slide is actually lighter than a G21 slide. Held one of the guns last week, points nicely.

Is it cause they went with the glock 36 style slide ? Like the lower bore...
Not sure how it can be lighter. Def pointed nicely .

Saw the same video, Amazingly enough the extra length of the 41 is still not enough to outweigh the massive 21 slide. The barrel is the same weight, they thinned it out on the 41.

The bore axis is the same, at least up to the chamber, because the frame is the same. Gun does point a little differently because of the longer sight radius though.

From what I saw on hikok45 video it appears to only way like a half ounce more, the 41 barrell is longer but thinner. If like to get one but I know it will be a while before I find one at a decent price.

Hmm. I'll be interested to see what you think of the 41 if you ever shoot one. I wonder if the narrow but long 41 slide has similar weight to a 21. (21 is the full sized .45, right?)

Don

Yeah, the 21 is the original .45. I currently have a 21SF. I've actually been contemplating picking up a 41... or at least adding it to the "must buy" list. I should check up at MFL and see if they have one to rent, would be nice to take one for a test drive first.

I like the 41. Its definately on my radar. I almost bought a g4 34 a while back but then this came out and muddled that decision up.

I have one in I just finished. What measurements do you need? I'll weigh it this morning. It goes back to the owner today.

Glock lists the Gen 4 21 at 830 g / 29.30 oz.

They list the 41 at 765 g / 27 oz.

So when you consider that the barrel of the 41 will be heavier, the slide of the 41 is definitely lighter. It will be interesting to see how it shoots.

Greg - did you test fire the 41 you were working on? What did you think?

According to Hickock45 the G41 and G21 barrels are the same weight, the G21 barrel is thicker and the slide is beefier.

I picked up a 41 Last week and it is a great shooter. Recoil feels like a Glock 17 3rd Gen. Still love my 21 but this is going to give it a run for it's money.

Resurrecting this because im thinking of looseningvthe purse strings for one.

Reviews look good. Anyone buy one?

I have one. Its a great gun. I haven't had time to shoot it much though. I usually shoot my 9mm glock 34 because I can make the ammo cheaper.

Its a real shooter though. Its thinner and lighter than a 21. But recoils less because of the longer barrel.

Recoils not a big deal in my book with these size pistols.
Nor is ammo because i reload
and have quite a few 45 to feed.

I like the idea of the thinner slide my 21 slide is a brick.
Doubt id keep both though.

Im going for it.

let us know how you like it

I would have thought the 21 would recoil less due to mass.

Was he comparing to a gen 4 G21?

My comparison was the Gen4 G41 with a Gen 3 G21, which admittedly was not an apples to apples comparison.

The double recoil spring of the gen 4 guns seems to tame the recoil of .40, .45, and 10mm Glocks better.

My G41 with factory loads recoils less than my all steel government 1911.

The difference is that with the 1911, I can use a soft 11 lb recoil spring and shoot bullseye loads of 200gr swc over 4 gr of Clays. This is a very light load that won't cycle the G41.

I keep meaning to experiment with a Glock 9mm captured recoil spirng and rod in the 21 for these powder puff loads. I don't even know if it will fit at this point.

I believe it was a gen 3 21..he weighed the slides and almost a 3oz difference...which he believed led to the recoil difference..I would love to shoot the 41 and a gen 4 21 side by side
