Glock 41

Yeh i kinda want to know since alot of people commented in the gen 4 glock thread said there is no difference in recoil...

Hickok has said the 21 recoils less.

And MAC stated no difference in recoil between generations

I'd strongly disagree with respect to the Model 22 in .40. I did a direct side by side comparison with a Gen 3 and Gen 4 and the Gen 4 was much much less snappy.

I don't want to derail this thread but that may not apply to the .45s. But there definitely is a big difference in the .40 guns.

Not to completely derail this. But it looks like little Tori Nonaka has turned 18 based on her newly purchased sweater puppies.

I don't quite get why pretty young fit women do this.

Kindof strange actually.

i would rather look at upside down pictures of her than try to figure out WTF this comment means

I have a G41 and had to go downstairs to dig it out and look at it (haven't been to the range since Dec). I did not realize that it had a slimmed down slide and was lighter than my Gen 2 G21. Had it to the range twice and it shot pretty well, at least it made me look good. Can't really compare the recoil but it feels good and I think it's a worthwhile .45 to get.

She clearly got a boob job. I don't understand why a great looking, smart, fit, successful 19 year old woman at the top of a profession most of us pay to participate in, would do that. unless she was a stripper.

I'm not marveling at the new orbs. I'm commenting more as a father. Sorry.

Slide is the same width as 9mm guns.

I would have thought the 21 would recoil less due to mass.

The G21 definitely has less felt recoil due to the added mass of the slide. It's also slower cycling and has a different feel all together. If I were shooting hot +p JHP loads I'd want to do it out of the G21. For playing at the range, I like the G41 because its lighter, points nicer, and fits in the Blade-Tech holster I currently use for the G34. Just have to change the mag holders. There's a place for both of them and no need to get rid of one to get the other...

-Cuz.

Yes. Same 0-2-7 spring.

Late to the conversation party, but I've run my 41 vs 21sf on plate racks to try and figure out this very thing. I find the 41 has a lot more muzzle flip from the ~4oz. difference and it's harder to do fast follow-up shots.

Recoil is a very subjective matter (I know, nothing new here). Unless you can hook your pistol up to testing equipment which can accurately measure the forces involved and tell you how much those forces measure for each firearm/ammunition combination, it all falls back on how YOU the shooter perceive the recoil.

Shot 100 or so rather stout w231 xtp reloads thru last night. Love the way the 41 handles with the longer radius and thinner slide. Recoil is no issue at all.

Thinking about test driving the G41 in CDP tomororw for IDPA. Maybe once I move around with it and get more seat time I'll adapt to it better. FPrice's subjective recoil statement makes me want to give it a try.

I'll be picking up mine tonight. What are people using for holsters?

Blade tech. Mine fits nicely into the same holster I have for my G34. Just had to change the mag holders. I don't care for the Blade Tech mag holders and have yet to find something I like for the large frame Glock mags.

I love my Blade Tech retention holster that I use for my G34 but the G41 does not fit well in it. Blade Tech customer support says that they do not make a holster for the G41 (nor does Blackhawk or 5.11 Tactical).

I'm not a big fan of Kydex but I bought a Kydex holster for $50 from tr_holsters on ebay. It fits very nicely and has good retention. They also have many options for colors and lights. Only negative is that they have a 10 day lead time on ordering.

508 Holsters in Worcester also makes Kydex holsters for the G41. They are more expensive (~$75) but I have friends at the club who use 508's for their CZ's and they are really like them and they seem to be high quality.

P.S. The G41 is a nice gun for bowling pins and steel. You are lucky to get one They are hard to find (although there is a nice one for sale on NES right now at a decent price ... as far as MA Glock prices go).
