GLOCK PERFECTION MEETS AIMPOINT PERFORMANCE

So. . . . like a discrete laser under the barrel or in the grip????? The world becomes your HUD. Someone should invent that. Have it be a crimson trace in the world to guide your shots.

Dr. Evil was putting laser beams on sharks decades ago. A gun is basically a shark so it would probably work.

Is anyone pumped about the box like design of the COA (and the trijicon RCR) vs a RMR?

They just seem really bulky to me, more so for that G43 application.
I would expect that there would be a compact format sight for the slimline slides.
Looking at the image in post 12, the bolt pattern wouldn't fit widthwise.
The RomeoX enclosed on my shadow systems slimline is the 'compact' version as the standard doesn't fit.

ETA: they may be able to simply use a smaller rear sight to achieve retention, the optics look the same on all models on aimpoint site.

So fully enclosed dual glass tv sets are definitely in by now. Single glass open emitter sights are already obsolete.

But what's the advantage over just putting screws into the optic, like everyone else? Why would I want to deal with a proprietary footprint, proprietary rear sight mount, and the risk of losing BUIS if the optic mount fails?
What they are trying to do is make it so that the main force is not resisted solely by shear force on the screws. And it’s very low.

Edited to add: I like the idea of a closed emitter. I worry about the size of it for a slimline pistol, however. I think the extra bulk of the optic will make it harder to carry appendix, which is how all the cool kids carry these days.

The Aimpoint Acro P2 has had a bad reputation for failures. I hope the COA does better. The full size battery is a very nice touch, as are the raised fences around the brightness buttons and the fact that you have to press the buttons twice to adjust them. I have had my RMR change brightness inadvertently in the holster.

I don't think it'll work on every pistol due to depth issues, but I could see this replacing the rmr cut and being the new standard.
And where the pinch plate is with the screws could easily be adapted to a rear sight as well.

GT Distributors has the combos up for pre-order, blue label versions as well.

G19/45/47 with COA are $970+$15 ship (they don't sell blue label to New England, but price is $805.20+$15)
G43x/48 are $834+$15 ( blue label $681.56+$15)

With proper installation, thread lock, and paint pen markings, its a non-issue. I beat the absolute piss out of my RMR and SRO which use smaller screws and I've never had one come loose. For me spending $1100 on a Glock and only being able to mount a COA on it is kind of silly. Maybe they are hoping for some big .gov contracts where both companies are locked in because of proprietary parts.
Yeah

I mean i have a 407k on my sig that i abuse and it's never come loose

And im talking multiple mile hikes daily

Construction projects

Swims

Fight with the dog in the yard

Im tempted to see what it would take to knock it loose
