The 8mm is not in the shot, but you could probably rechamber a garand for 8mm with a new barrel. Same rim size.

There was a manufacturer in California, I think, that offered Garands in 8mm. I saw the website at one point; now I just can't find it. Nothing wrong with the original, of course!
