A local gun dealer has an H&R Handi Rifle for sale (used) in .223. Factory scope, bull barrle, bla bla bla. Factory gun. Does anyone have one, had one? I'm looking at it seriously, but wanted to hear from some that had experiance with them. Thanks, Mark.

Had one in 45-70. I liked it. They work well for what they are. If you want and don't pay too much you should be happy.

You can also, if the rifle is one of the newer production ones, take advantage of H&R's Barrel Accessory Program. I think their most expensive conversion is $120 plus shipping.
I've resisted the temptation to buy a new one, but I am on the lookout for a used one in a caliber I already shoot. Someday I'll run into it!
