Help for newb with M&P 9

Definitely get a trigger job. I had mine done by Greg Derr, it's sweet. The gun fires so much more comfortably now and I'm way more accurate with it because my finger doesn't "pull" the gun while squeezing the trigger.

Really? My .40 didn't say anything about pulling the trigger, just push the lever down and rotate the takedown lever. Done it a million times.

Yup, mine absolutely will not strip down if the trigger has not been pulled. Drove me nuts in the beginning because I could not find this referenced anywhere.

Do not use this method to field strip the M+P, you can over time damage the sear. There is a take down tool in the grip, rotate it and remove it. Use this tool to extend the sear disconnect lever. Once this is done, pull back on the slide and slowly walk it forward and remove the slide from the frame.

I used to pull the trigger to take down the firearm, and when I started stripping it down for Lou at Business End Customs, he stopped me and showed me the correct way to take the firearm down and told me the sear can be damaged over time. He posted a photo of a damaged sear from an M+P on his business facebook page a while ago.
