Help me choose a semi-auto shotgun

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I suppose I should have been a little more specific in my original post though. I HAVE to choose between these specific three guns. I can get one of three on a pro deal, so I only have to pay 1/3 of retail price(didn't wanna brag [wink]) which is why I'm going for the good stuff. So, between those three specifically.... Which is better. I'm fond of the benelli. The weight is nice, it comes up good, and the action seems the best, but I haven't fired any of them, so I'm looking for advice from someone who has.

The Xplor is the best pick of the three, especially since you'd be getting it much cheaper than retail. It will shoot lighter than the Benelli and it will be more tolerant of a wide variety of loads. The Versamax seems to be a decent design but it doesn't hold a candle to either of those other options - its main advantage is that it is somewhat cheaper.

What is this deal you are referring to? Instructor? LE? Mil?

I'm asking because I want some of that action if its available to me.

The guy saw "shotgun" and thought Keltec. Clearly, all the details flew right by him - including the "semi-auto" in the thread title.

I still can't get my brain around shooting a shotgun at things that aren't moving. Might as well use a rifle. It holds more ammo, recoils less and has a much greater range.

Somebody has to come up with an insulting name for a shotgun owner who just likes to blow up milk jugs and watermelons. Hmm. Melonkiller?

Went with the benelli. Looked up reviews, and seems like the benelli comes out on top in all aspects other than chamber size, but I've got no real interest in hunting with 3.5 loads. Will post pics upon arrival. Thanks for the help.

Congrats, it should serve you well.

Good luck with it. If you have any trouble with it cycling properly with light target loads, I'd suggest running a couple of boxes of heavy duck loads through it.

I got my SBE in August and wanted to shoot some sporting clays with it to get used to it. I had trouble with it cycling target loads and eventually ended up
shooting clays with high brass reasonably priced pheasant loads. Then during duck season, I probably put 3 boxes of heavy duck loads through it.
After that, the thing will now cycle the lightest, cheapest promotional loads I can find.
