I'm getting about $740 from my our wonderful gov'ts tax refund and I've already got a good portion of the funds allocated to a stock, barrel, and scope for my 10/22.
Pros:
-ammo is cheap
-lots of fun to shoot
-hunt squirrel/rabbit?
-satisfaction of piecing together a "custom" rifle
-leaves some money to put in the bank
-ammo is readily available, even at Wal-Mart
Cons:
-small caliber limits hunting versatility
-I'll be putting $480ish into a $200ish rifle
On the other side of this dilemma of mine, I'm also thinking that amount of money could get me behind a CZ 527 American in .204 Ruger or .223.
Pros:
-dead nuts accurate
-more versatile for hunting
-gorgeous walnut stock
-new caliber to my collection if I get .204 Ruger
-I don't have a CZ yet
Cons:
-ammo isn't so common in .204
-ammo isn't so cheap in either .223 or .204 Ruger
-probably no money left over for savings
-needs to be scoped with $quality$ glass
So, I again come to the wisdom of my fellow NES'ers. What do you guys and gals think?![Grin [grin] [grin]](/xen/styles/default/xenforo/smilies.vb/041.gif)
