If you had to choose one HD hand gun with hi cap mags what would it be? Right now I'm using my Beretta 92SF with 16 rounds but looking for something I can put a laser or light on. I really like the H&K USP40 but hi cap mags in MA are near impossible to find.

I don't know much more about Glocks or ..........?

Thanks,

Beretta sells a rail adapter for the 92/M9. Plus you can get Crimson Trace grips for it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Aloha

Plenty of options including an upgrade to a newer 92 with a rail since you are familiar with the platform (and can still use the pre-ban mags).

P.S - Don't buy the 92 in my avatar.

Glock 21. 13 rd preban mag of .45acp, and if you felt you needed more...

Kriss V magazine extension to make it a 30rd gun..

If you want to stick with 9mm. A glock 19/ 17 with a preban mag with +2 extension , or 33rd mag..

This
but you'd need a 3rd gen or newer for the rail.
I'd stay away from the 30rd option for .45acp personally. I'd go with quality +2's or +5's if you wanted more. However the. 33rd stick mags are sweet for 9mm.

Get a high quality hand held flashlight (surefire etc) and take a low light shooting class like the one that MFS puts on.
Hand held is much more useful and safer. You can light someone up without pointing a loaded pistol, most likely with the safety off, at them. It also keeps you from breaking a couple of different basic safety rules.

+1 on the Glock 19/17 (or 22/23) with preban mags. Gen 3s and 4s have rail lasers and grip lasers readily available.

Also +1 on the handheld light. I don't want to muzzle flash my family using my weapon light.
