My wife is a non-citizen...this is what I purchased for her to be used as a home defense weapon:

Euroarms of America, Rogers & Spencer .44 (ball & cap)

The objects next to the balls are the powder charges.

While I recognize this is not the optimal choice for home defense...I would not want to be shot with one. I plan on shooting this each time I go to the range [smile]

My other option was to have her apply for a non-resident FID. This would have allowed the use of a shotgun. However, such a license would have been costly (yearly renewal fee of $100 coupled with the hassle, the safety course, and the $100 application fee).

Good solution. The poor treatment of legal aliens by MA is one reason I chose to move to NH instead - as a not-yet-citizen MA would not trust me to own my handguns if I lived there but if I lived 5 mins over the border they would trust me with a non-resident LTC-A
